Alice Jing Cai 蔡靖

MLP – K (Ages 5+)

Ms. Cai is currently the Kindergarten Chinese teacher at Denver Chinese School. She graduated from Tianjin Polytechnic University with a major in Japanese and has always been passionate about language learning. She moved to Denver in 2017 and is the mother of two lovely children. Cheerful, responsible, and patient, Jing enjoys working with children and is dedicated to helping young learners build a strong foundation in Chinese through fun and engaging lessons.

Fanny Garber 陈纯鹤

MLP – 6th Grade

Ms. Fanny has been teaching Chinese at DCS since 2012. She has taught various grade levels and holds a Certificate of Accreditation of Chinese language teaching.

Deena Chanjuan Ding 丁婵娟

PreK (Ages 4–5)

Ms. Ding is currently the PreK teacher and principal of Denver Chinese School. She graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Electronic Information Engineering. She is caring, responsible, and passionate about education. She is also skilled in Chinese painting and has won many awards in China and internationally. After moving to Denver in 2012, she founded a U.S.-China education consulting company and has continued to focus on education. As a mother of three, she loves working with children and hopes to work with teachers and parents to create a warm, fun, and encouraging Chinese learning environment, along with a variety of enrichment classes, so that more students can enjoy Chinese school, love learning Chinese, and grow happily.

Ruirui Dong 董睿睿

MLP – 2nd Grade

Ms. Ruirui Dong earned her master’s degree from Colorado Technical University in 2003 and has over 20 years of experience teaching Chinese language and culture. She enjoys integrating language learning with art and cultural activities. She currently teaches at a Douglas County charter school and at Denver Chinese School as the second-grade Ma Liping curriculum teacher.

Lei Jiang 蒋蕾

MLP – 7th Grade & Pinyin

Ms. Jiang serves as the 7th Grade Chinese Teacher, Mandarin Phonetics Teacher, and Vice Principal at Denver Chinese School. She holds a degree in Chinese Language and Literature and has ten years of journalism experience as a reporter and editor-in-chief. She was among the first to earn the National Level II Psychological Counselor certification in China. With six years of teaching experience at Denver Chinese School, she is passionate about Chinese education and dedicated to developing students’ language skills and cultural understanding. Her engaging teaching style helps students discover the beauty of Chinese language and culture in a fun and supportive environment.

Wenqing Jin 金文清

MLP – 1st Grade

Ms. Jin has 8 years of teaching experience and a background in education and early childhood education. She previously taught at New Oriental and Xueersi, two well-known educational institutions in China, and has received multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards. She holds a Primary School Chinese Language Teaching Certificate and a Level 2-A Mandarin Proficiency Certificate, having taught over 1,000 students. Known for her engaging, lively, and humorous teaching style, Ms. Jin emphasizes interactive and personalized instruction. She is dedicated to inspiring students’ interest in learning Chinese, developing good study habits, and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where children can learn with joy and grow with confidence.

Mike Li 李旭

Substitute Teacher

Mr. Li is a software engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. Born in China and raised in the US, Mike has a deep appreciation for Chinese language, history, and the rich intersections of culture that shape our global community. Drawing from his cross-cultural experience, Mike is passionate about helping others discover the beauty of the Chinese language. He believes that language learning should be an encouraging and fulfilling journey and hopes to make it accessible for learners at all levels.

Luo Jinxian 罗锦贤

AP Chinese / SAT-II Chinese

Ms. Luo holds a master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature from Beijing Normal University. She worked as an editor in Beijing for nine years before moving to Denver in 2016. She has taught preschool and second-grade Chinese classes at Denver Chinese School for many years and began teaching AP Chinese in 2025. She is passionate about Chinese language, literature, and culture and is dedicated to preserving and passing on this rich cultural heritage to future generations.

Jade Ke Pei 裴珂

MLP – 8th Grade

Ms. Pei holds a degree in Education from Southwest China Normal University and a Master’s degree in Education from the U.S. She has over 20 years of teaching and educational leadership experience in China and the United States. She previously taught at Chongqing Nankai Middle School, the Confucius Institute in Denver, and Denver Center for International Studies. She currently teaches full-time at Denver Language School. With extensive experience in Chinese language education and the U.S. K–12 system, Ms. Pei is dedicated to personalized instruction and fostering students’ language skills and cultural understanding.

Ying Sun 孙影

Happy Chinese – Advanced / HSK 3–4

Ms. Sun is currently the Happy Chinese Class teacher and Director of Student Affairs at Denver Chinese School. She graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University with a master’s degree in Computer Science and Technology. As a mother of three lovely children, she is passionate about Chinese education and enjoys working with children. She is patient, caring, and responsible. She hopes to create a fun, positive, and encouraging classroom environment where students can enjoy learning Chinese, learn about Chinese culture, and build confidence in the language.

Hui Yang 杨慧

MLP – 3rd Grade

Teacher Hui Yang holds a degree in law and an accounting certificate. She has been teaching third grade at Denver Chinese School for nearly ten years, bringing extensive experience and dedication to Chinese language education. Passionate about the Chinese language and devoted to her students, Teacher Yang believes in inspiring curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and making learning fun and engaging. She values each child’s natural curiosity and individuality, creating a warm and supportive classroom where children can learn and grow with joy. Her greatest hope is to plant the seeds of love for the Chinese language and Chinese culture in every child’s heart, nurturing an appreciation for their cultural heritage that will grow and flourish throughout their lives.

Jian Zhao 赵健

Bilingual Happy Chinese – Intermediate / HSK 1–2

Mr. Jian Zhao serves as Vice Principal of Denver Chinese School, teaches the Bilingual Happy Chinese Youth Class, and oversees the school’s HSK Chinese Proficiency Test program. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Technology of China and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University and Georgia Tech. Currently a software developer, he brings a strong academic background and cross-cultural experience. Passionate about Chinese education, Mr. Zhao creates engaging bilingual lessons that inspire students to develop their language skills and deepen their appreciation of Chinese culture.

Lei Zhou 周磊

MLP – 4th Grade

Ms. Zhou has over 20 years of experience in Chinese language education and school administration in the United States. She previously served as Vice Principal of a Chinese language school and has extensive experience in teaching, curriculum development, and cultural promotion. She also has over 20 years of experience in HSK/YCT exam administration. With a deep understanding of students’ learning needs across different age groups, Ms. Zhou emphasizes personalized instruction and is dedicated to developing students’ Chinese language skills and appreciation of Chinese culture.

Wenjing Zong 宗文景

Bilingual Happy Chinese – Beginner

Ms. Zong is currently the First-Grade Chinese teacher and Director of Academic Programs at Denver Chinese School. She graduated from the University of Denver with degrees in Criminology and Psychology and also studied Early Childhood Education at Community College of Denver. Since 2016, she has been involved in Chinese language education, serving as a substitute teacher at Denver Language School and a bilingual class teacher at a Chinese school. She is passionate, responsible, patient, and caring, and is dedicated to inspiring children's interest in learning Chinese. As a mother of a lovely daughter, she brings warmth and understanding to her teaching and is deeply loved by her students and parents.

Emily Bai 白伊若丽

Guzheng (Chinese Zither) Club

Coach Emily Bai is the Gu Zheng (Chinese Zither) teacher for the Gu Zheng Instrument Club. She emphasizes strong fundamentals, guiding students through classic guzheng repertoire and helping them build solid playing technique while developing an appreciation for traditional Chinese music.

Hayden Chen 陈雨凡

International Latin Dance (On Hold)

Coach Hayden (Yufan) Chen has over 13 years of professional training in International Standard, American Smooth, and Latin dance. He was the National Runner-Up in Youth American Smooth at the 2025 United States Dance Championships (USDC) and won championships in both International Standard and American Smooth at the 2025 New York Dance Festival (NYDF). With over three years of teaching experience, Hayden specializes in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Latin dance. His teaching emphasizes strong technique, musicality, and dance etiquette while inspiring students to develop confidence, artistic expression, and a lifelong appreciation for dance.

Lucy Chen 陈雨泽

Traditional Chinese Painting & Calligraphy

Coach Lucy (Yuze) Chen has studied traditional Chinese painting for many years, developing a strong foundation in Chinese visual arts. She has served as a Chinese Painting Instructor at Denver Chinese School for over three years. Lucy is also the Co-Founder and Arts Director of Inspire Movement & Arts Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding arts education and cultural engagement. Her teaching emphasizes fundamental painting techniques, creativity, and artistic expression while inspiring students to appreciate traditional Chinese art and culture.

Rachel Ding 丁蕊

Director & Dance Instructor, StepIntoMelody Dance Studio at Denver Chinese School. Full-time software engineer holding both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science. Classically trained in dance from a young age with formal professional instruction. Certified teacher (Levels 1–6) by the Chinese Folk Dance Grading Examination Center.

Haibing He 何海冰

Taekwondo Class

Coach He is currently a Taekwondo instructor at Denver Chinese School. He holds a 4th-degree World Taekwondo black belt and has over 20 years of teaching experience. He previously founded and operated 10 Taekwondo schools in China, organized numerous major competitions, and trained many black belt students and outstanding athletes. Now teaching in Colorado, he continues to promote Taekwondo with a strong commitment to character development. His teaching focuses not only on improving students’ skills and physical fitness but also on building confidence, discipline, respect, and perseverance, helping students grow stronger both physically and mentally.

Huanli Huang 黄焕立

Basketball Class

Coach Huang graduated from the School of Physical Education at Guangzhou University. He represented his school in the Guangzhou University Basketball League, winning championships for three consecutive years. He has taught at Denver Chinese School for three semesters and has extensive experience coaching basketball for young children. He emphasizes teamwork and uses fun basketball games and engaging competitions to inspire children’s interest in basketball while developing their skills and confidence.

Xianhua Kong 孔献华

Adult Mulan Quan / Tai Chi, Adult Qipao Dance, Flower Arrangement

Coach Kong leads a variety of enrichment classes, including Tai Chi, Mulan Boxing, Qipao Dance, modern dance, and floral arrangement. Students actively participate in community events and performances throughout the year, showcasing the beauty and charm of traditional Chinese culture. Vincent Nguyen

English Debate Class

Coach Vincent Nguyen is an accomplished debate coach and former California State Champion who placed 5th at the 2025 National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) National Championship. With extensive competitive debate experience, Vincent is passionate about helping students develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, public speaking, and teamwork skills while building confidence and strong communication abilities.

Changnian Sun 孙昌年

Traditional Chinese Painting & Calligraphy

Professor Changnian Sun formerly taught physics at Fudan University in Shanghai and was a visiting scholar at Vanderbilt University in the United States. He developed a passion for Chinese calligraphy at a young age and has continued practicing this traditional art form throughout his life. After settling in the United States, he became a member of the Asian Cultural Exchange Association in Tennessee and has actively participated in promoting Chinese culture in his community. Since 2022, he has served as a Chinese calligraphy instructor at Denver Chinese School. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Rocky Mountain Chinese Calligraphy Art Society.

Youth Volleyball Class

Coach Hanrey Sun is a Setter and Opposite Hitter for the Cherry Creek High School Bruins varsity volleyball team. Off the high school court, Hanrey competes at a high level club volleyball for three years.

Coach Da Meng has 40 years of volleyball player experience, including several championships at high school, college and graduate school. He is the founder of Denver Chinese Volleyball Association (DCVA).

Christopher Zhu

Algebra I & Geometry

Coach Christopher is a talented young math instructor who is highly regarded by his students. He excels at explaining mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging way, inspiring students to develop a love for math. He is a MathCounts State Champion, a two-time MathCounts National Competition qualifier, and a former State Team Captain. He has also won three Colorado Math League Championships, two Math Kangaroo National First Place awards, and four UNC Math Contest First Place awards in his grade level. He focuses on developing students’ mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills while building their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

Mr. Ping Gou serves as the Director of Operations at Denver Chinese School and is a software engineer. Dedicated, responsible, and detail-oriented, he generously volunteers his time to support the school's technical needs, event organization, and daily operations. Passionate about Chinese language education and cultural heritage, he works closely with the school team to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students, teachers, and families.

Mr. Zhou serves as the Chinese Corner Program Coordinator at Denver Chinese School and will assume the role of Interim Principal during Principal Ding’s maternity leave. Mr. Zhou organizes the Chinese Corner Program at Denver Chinese School. He brings over 16 years of experience in information security and risk management, having held leadership positions at financial institutions including Goldman Sachs. He holds an MBA and two bachelor's degrees from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Passionate about community service, Mr. Zhou is dedicated to creating engaging and welcoming opportunities for language learning and cultural exchange through Chinese Corner and other activities.
